How it works

90 days. 5 gates. One finished product.

You build one approved product, one step at a time. At each gate you send Rebel photos or video of your work. You move forward only when it's right, so small mistakes don't turn into a ruined mold.

  1. 1

Days 1–7 · Pick and plan

    Gate 1: Idea approved

You fill out the Mold Justification in the app: size, weight, proof it sells, who buys it, materials cost, build time. The app works out your profit per shop hour on the spot. Rebel approves the idea before you buy materials.

  2. 2

Days 8–30 · Build the plug

    Gate 2: Plug approved

Send a video walk-around and close-ups in side lighting. Rebel checks the surface, draft, undercuts, edges and size before you build a mold off it.

  3. 3

Days 31–55 · Build the mold

    Gate 3: Mold approved

Film your gelcoat, layup and demold step by step. Rebel reviews the mold surface before you pull parts from it.

  4. 4

    Days 56–80 · Pull parts

Gate 4: Three good parts in a row

Pull three parts back to back and check each against the defect checklist. Record your build time for each one.

  5. 5

Days 81–90 · Finish and price

    Gate 5: Sellable part

Finished-part photos, your cost sheet and your price. You end the program with a product you can sell and a mold that keeps making it.

Every day

What coaching looks like day to day

Morning: 2-minute check-in

Post a photo of yesterday's work and your if-then plan for today, like "If it's 6 pm, I sand the plug to 320 grit."

Anytime: ask Rebel

Stuck at 11 pm? Send a photo, video or voice note right then. Rebel answers within 24 hours. Need Rebel requests go first.

At each gate: proof and review

Submit the checklist with your photos and video. Rebel approves it, or sends it back with exactly what to fix.

The first-product rule

Why your first part must be small

A big part that takes 8 hours to lay up and finish and sells for $400 earns $50 an hour. A small part that takes under an hour and sells for $125 or more can earn more than twice that. Small parts also mean less material in the mold, cheaper mistakes and cheaper shipping.

  • About 18 × 20 inches or smaller
  • Lightweight and in demand (3 links to similar parts selling now)
  • Sells for $125 or more
  • Earns $130 or more per shop hour

The math the app runs for you

(Sale price − materials) ÷ hours = dollars per shop hour

PartPriceHoursPer hour*
Large part$4008$50
Small part$1251.5$83
Small part$1251$125
Cab corners$1270.75–0.92$130–$159

*Before materials, except cab corners, which include $7.44 in materials. Examples only, not a promise of earnings.
