Small, light, and at least $130 per shop hour
Most beginners pick a first part that's too big. They spend 8 hours on a $400 part and make $50 an hour. Your first mold makes a part about 18 × 20 inches or smaller, lightweight, in demand, and selling for $125 or more. It has to earn at least $130 for every hour of layup and finishing.
