Rebel Hays
Rebel has been building molds and products for 39 years. He has built hundreds of molds, taking parts from the first idea all the way to production.
Today he builds and sells truck restoration parts under his NeverRust trade name: cab corners, rocker panels and hood scoops for Ford, Ram and Chevy trucks, from 43 production molds of his own.
Before that, and alongside it, he has:
- Built hundreds of molds for kit cars, including a '57 Thunderbird replica
- Designed and built RV fronts and dashboards
- Designed and built custom interior part molds to convert Cadillac STS cars from left-hand to right-hand drive, including steam-injection molds for forming the Zebrano wood dash trim and a soft-touch dashboard
- Built a sub-box mold from a designed wood pattern for the marine market and sandbar parties
- Built vacuum-form molds for ABS and Lexan polycarbonate, including V-bottom and pickle-fork racing boat models
- Designed and built composite roofing panels for custom roofs, with a sun-reflective coating built into the part to help lower cooling costs
Not every project worked the first time. Most did. You get the benefit of both: what works, and the mistakes he's already made so you don't have to.

Questions people ask before they join
Is this a video course?
No. There's a video library, but the program is daily coaching. You send Rebel your work, he tells you what to fix, and you don't move to the next step until it's right.
What does "24/7" mean?
The app is open 24/7, so you can send a question any time, day or night, the moment you hit a problem. Rebel answers within 24 hours, and Need Rebel requests go to the top of his list.
Do I need experience?
No. You need a workspace with good ventilation, safety gear, about an hour most days, and a willingness to take correction. The gates are built so beginners don't skip steps.
Can I build any product I want?
Your first product has to pass the first-product rule: about 18 × 20 inches or smaller, lightweight, in demand, selling for $125 or more, and earning $130 or more per shop hour. Rebel approves it before you buy materials. After you finish, build whatever you like.
How much will materials cost?
That depends on your product. Materials aren't included. For reference, one supplier's all-in-one mold-making kit lists at $327.77. Rebel's cab corners use about $7.44 of resin, gelcoat and mat per set once the mold is built.
Is it remote?
Yes. You work in your own shop. Everything happens through the app on your phone or laptop.
Will I make money?
Nobody can honestly promise that. The program is built to get you a finished, sellable part and a mold that makes more of it, and to check the profit math before you start. What you earn depends on your product, your market and your work.
What's the guarantee?
The Build-Complete Guarantee: pass every gate by its deadline and follow the reviewed instructions. If you don't have a finished, sellable part by Day 90, your coaching and app access continue free in the next group until you do.
Will you help me sell my product?
Yes. Rebel coaches you on pricing, photos, listings and getting your part in front of buyers, using what he has learned selling his own physical and digital products. You still do the selling, and results depend on your product and your market.
What is the free online store?
Every student gets their own spot on Rebel's server for an online store to market and sell their products, free for the first year. After that it's $27.97 a month if you choose to keep it. You'll be reminded before the free year ends, and you can cancel any time.
What about safety?
Resins, gelcoats and catalysts are hazardous. At Gate 1 you send a photo of your ventilated workspace and safety gear. Safety-critical, structural and load-bearing parts are not allowed as a first product.
How do I log in after I pay?
You get an email with your login right after checkout. Open the app link, log in, and on your phone choose "Add to Home Screen."
